Cornerstone Recovery Program
Treatment Periods
The length of treatment is highly individual and depends greatly on the progress the youth is making in treatment. The youth and therapist will develop a treatment plan with identified goals for the youth to work on during their treatment episode. Their progress on these treatment goals will determine how long they will stay in different levels of care. In addition, we also use the American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria as a guideline in helping us determine what type of treatment is most appropriate for the youth and when a transition to a different level of care is necessary.
The following are very general guidelines for average length of stay for all of our programs. As mentioned above, all youth progress through treatment at different speeds so these identified lengths of stay could be longer or shorter depending on the youth.
Residential - four to six months
Day Treatment - one to three months
Intensive Outpatient - eight to ten weeks
Extended Outpatient - eight to ten weeks
Continuing Care - three months up to one year
