From everyone at Children & Families of Iowa (CFI), we offer a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of those who participated in the 2009 Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program. Your generosity and compassion in reaching out to these families is simply overwhelming. We were amazed and humbled at the many, many thoughtful, beautifully wrapped gifts that came in.
You have brightened the holidays for our most in-need clients. Thanks to you, these families had a holiday season to remember with joy and laughter. For many of these families, you provided not only gifts, but also restored their hope and renewed their strength to begin building a positive new future.
The generosity you’ve shown in participating also served as a reminder that there are still “kind and generous people out there in the world,” as one of the adopted families said in a note to their sponsor. As a donor, you have also helped to inspire these families. As one CFI employee noted, “Many of our clients were so overwhelmed and felt touched that others would help them like this. One family began thinking about ways they could give back even though they have few resources. These sponsors have changed people with their generosity and that’s what it’s all about. Changing lives is what CFI does."
