Adoption Services

Children & Families of Iowa is committed to creating safe, permanent connections between children and families. Part of this commitment is to provide domestic and international adoption home study services. We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation to provide international home studies.

Our service approach is as follows:
  1. Prepare potential adoptive families for the adoption of child
  2. Facilitate placement of the child
  3. Provide post-placement support services to families after the child has been placed in their home
Hague Accreditation

Children & Families of Iowa is seeking Hague accreditation. Having Hague accreditation will mean that CFI is in compliance with Hague regulations that establish uniform requirements and ensure sound ethical practices designed to protect children, birthparents and adoptive parents.

Hague regulations are a result of the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoptions, which provides a framework for member countries to work together to ensure that children are provided with permanent, loving homes, that adoptions take place in the best interests of a child, and that the abduction, sale or traffic in children is prevented.

CFI has been helping children find loving families through the miracle of adoption since 1888. Also, for many years, we have been conducting home studies and providing support services for families seeking intercountry adoption. Achieving Hague accreditation is a natural step for us to support ethical practices and continue to provide a range of adoption services with only the best interests of children in mind.

This process of accreditation allows the public to provide feedback regarding our performance. We invite you to submit a comment by clicking here, if you want to take advantage of this opportunity.
